Cloth Diaper Laundry Guide

For Fancy Cloth Baby brand diapers, we would suggest washing all hemp, bamboo, or cotton 1-3 times before use, and fluff in the dryer between a triple wash. This process is called prepping, and it's preparing the diapers to absorb a lot! ;)
For all PUL or water-proof covers, wash and dry before use (hang to dry - it's a great option to help conserve energy and can extend the life of the diaper!)

Q: WHERE DO I KEEP THE DIRTY DIAPERS?
A: A dry Diaper Pail (kitchen garbage pail works great), or waterproof bag (a.k.a. wet/dry bag)

Q: HOW OFTEN SHOULD I WASH THEM?
A: We would recommend at least every other day, to keep bacteria from forming. Also, it would depend on the amount of diapers you have
Q: IS IT OKAY TO WASH DIAPERS WITH OTHER LAUNDRY?
A: We don't recommend it, especially in the initial rinse.

Happy cloth diapering! and Happy washing!

**Water Temperature**
Cloth diaper Myth or Fact:
"Hot water is better for cleaning cloth diapers."
Myth. While hot may be better at removing grease and detergent, the hot water in our washing machines isn't actually hot enough to sanitize, unless you have newer model front loaders that have the sanitize option. It's really all up to you, what you want to use. Try different things and use what works nest for you! Happy Cloth Diapering!
